How SCSI Helped Me Land My First IT Job

When I started my journey, I had zero computer skills. I knew that technology was becoming increasingly important in the workplace, but I lacked the basic knowledge and confidence needed to use computers effectively or pursue a career in IT.

I decided to enroll in online courses at Senior Computer Services International (SCSI), where I began learning from the fundamentals. My training covered important areas such as Microsoft Office, Computer Networking, and Cybersecurity, giving me a strong foundation in both everyday computer use and professional IT concepts.

What made the learning experience different for me was SCSI’s hands-on approach. I was not simply learning theories from textbooks or watching lessons without practice. I was given practical exercises and assignments that allowed me to apply what I was learning. This helped me understand how the skills I was developing could be used in real workplace situations.

The live teacher guidance was also extremely valuable. Whenever I faced difficulties, I could interact with instructors, ask questions, receive explanations, and get guidance on how to solve problems. This support helped me overcome the fear of making mistakes and gradually built my confidence.

As I continued learning and practicing, I began to realize that I was capable of doing much more with technology than I had initially imagined. Skills that once seemed difficult—such as working with Microsoft Office applications, understanding networks, and learning about cybersecurity—became increasingly familiar.

The impact of the training became clear within just three months. I secured my first opportunity as an IT Assistant, giving me the chance to apply the knowledge and practical skills I had gained through SCSI in a professional environment.

Getting my first IT role was a major milestone for me. It showed me that starting with no computer experience does not have to be a barrier to building a career in technology. With the right training, practical experience, guidance, determination, and continuous learning, it is possible to develop valuable skills and create new opportunities.

Today, I am continuing to build my professional career in IT with greater confidence and a stronger technical foundation. The journey that began with zero computer skills has developed into a meaningful professional path.

SCSI truly transformed my journey—from a complete beginner who was unsure about computers into someone with practical ICT skills, professional confidence, and a growing career in IT.
